Am I getting a good deal?

I would price up your car at New Mercedes Benz E Class Cars for Sale | Cheap Mercedes Benz E Class Deals | E Class Reviews

and use it a as a guide to negotiate with the dealer.

My Dad picked up a new C class Executive SE from them a few weeks ago (new build). Got a 15% discount and the car was sourced from Mercedes Corporate. It also came with the expensive ridged car mats for free !

I don't think the discount they offer on the E class is as much but probably still competitive.

They have a stock (which may mean pre-registered) 350 CDI Avantgarde with Command Sat Nav and Airmatic suspension for £36,995
Mercedes Benz E Class E350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Avantgarde 4dr Tip Auto Diesel Saloon New Car - in stock

Did you look into the E350CDI they had in stock (above) - it sounds like a good deal for a car that appears to be well spec'd and a diesel engine

I've got NAV 50 and it is not good. Should have got full-fat Comand. The inaccuracies in the navigation are simply astounding...

I just mean that december is a slow month for them with very little happening when most people are spending money on christmas stuff and their attention is somewhere else. This means they will be more willing to deal to shift cars , especially a stock car.

when are you intending on taking delivery of the car?

True. got 10% off in December 09 but bear in mind not all dealers are flexible so you should be ready tro travel.

Please buy the petrol. I just hate it when people try to convince people who want to buy petrol to do otherwise. Not all of us cover moon miles and some of us just want to enjoy our cars complete with the sound of a proper engine free from tractor rattles and all.

Fair enough, but £37k will almost get you a 212 E500 or a E350 V6, so you get a proper multi cylinder sound track.
