Am I missing a fan?

Hi All

I've been under the bonnet a bit the last few days due to my starting problems, and noticed that I didnt have an electric fan in front of my radiator, just one at the rear of it.

On my previous Jags, they had a cooling fan behind the rad and an additional fan in front which comes on when air-con is selected.

although my air-con seems fine, should I have a fan here on the front, there is a bracket but nothing attached to it.

One fan is normal. Some MB models has two parallel fans, via visco coupling...

I suspect your Jags were petrol and suffering from a lack of cooling capacity.

Yes the jags were petrol and cooling wasn't their strongest point

Depends what Jag and engine.

Some have one fan with ecu controller to compensate for aircon on/off
