I cannot believe how good the turning circle is on my w202 c230k sport. I've had enough cars, and nothing has come close.
No wonder they use these things as taxis! Are all Mercs the same?

Not sure about every Mercedes, but certainly every Mercedes I've owned has had a very good turning circle.

Are (or rather, were) W202s used as taxis? Bit small, I'd have thought. I don't recall mine as having had a particularly good turning circle. As for other MBs, they had to fit the Vito taxi with a part-time 4WS system in order to comply with the Conditions of Fitness for London.

Try a W210 E class, the turning circle is great for a large car.

It's probably because they are used as Taxis that they have a tight turning circle.

One of the advantages of rear wheel drive - no front driveshafts!

Nick Froome

I've never noticed any of my Beemers having a great turning circle, and you'd have thought they would benefit from the same advantage?

190's have amazing turning circles, as does my W126. The inside wheels seem to almost turn back on themselves :D

Interestingly, the worst I have ever come across is my old mans Volvo V70 D5.
It is truly terrible. Even getting into normal sized parking spaces means having to do 75 point turns !!

Best turning circle on any car i've driven was a Volvo 740, smaller than my Fiesta Mk.1.

It's because it's got that 5 banger and then a gearbox nailed across the car.

You probably need to try a Subaru Legacy 6 pot, or any Honda, these make supertankers appear agile.

Do any current new cars have rear wheel steering? I know my old Honda Prelude had it, but I don't see it mentioned these days.

I know the Vito taxi has RWS added to make it compliant to London Taxi regs.

It's an option on Infiniti models.

And also on BMW 5 and 7 series.

Turning circle on the W220 is better than the much smaller Corsa or the Yaris.

I'm almost certain Renault are doing this, I can see the advert in my minds eye and I'm sure it's them.

All my Mercs have had good turning circles , better than many smaller cars .

Best I've owned was a Triumph Herald , bettered only by a London taxi .
