AMG A35 Owners Thread

I first purchased a white non-aero version (in stock) and per you found it excellent but just lacked something so I did a flip for this one and think it looks excellent. I have never been anywhere near repeating a car model purchase before. Well done MB!

I've got a few questions if anyone could kindly help.

Is engine braking bad for the car? I'm still getting to grips with how the DCT works. Is it best to apply brake, and hold the down paddle and let it shift down itself, or not bother braking and downshift and let the engine to slow the car?

Does anyone know if the transmission uses a dry clutch or wet clutch?

Is there anyway to set the car to start in Sport+ every time I start it up? I see the option for "Ask when start up", but nothing happens when it's selected.

Cheers.

Gears to go
Brakes to slow

Brakes are cheaper to replace than gearboxes....

I honestly thought one of the main advantages of a DCT is that it can automatically rev match as to never over strain the engine. It also doesn't let you downshift rapidly from for example; 7th to 2nd, it's a gradual process where the computer is only letting you downshift when mechanically safe to do so.

I'll use a bit of brake and a bit of engine braking from now on. The reason I engine brake really is because of how awesome it sounds on the over run.

Hi All, new member and awaiting delivery of my A35 on the 17th. Originally had a CLA35 on order since last June but had delay after delay on delivery date so decided to ditch it and go A. Just wondering if there are any codes similar to the VAG VCDS that can be added to the car to personalise it a little?
Thanks in advance

bought my car May 2019 and haven’t posted on this forum before, despite signing up a almost a year ago (smh)

I’ve attached my A35 premium plus with night and style pack.

Updated the grill to the A45s (8 hours it took to install) and blacked out badges.

Love the grill !!!! Not sure about badges though. I have the same packs on mine

Brabus splitter fixed (after being introduced to a high kerb) and a few additions, plus I just plastidipped the wing mirrors and had the bright trim wrapped in gloss. All removable without any damage to the car. And if anything they protect the paint/trim underneath.

Badges look way better in person to be fair. Photo is a bit rubbish apologies.

wanted the all black grill, but doesn’t look as nice. So as much as I don’t like chrome, it was the only decent looking option.

I don't get these grills. The horizontal double bar is synonymous with AMG, this Panamerica grill looks like a SE spec BMW grill with the vertical lines. And it make the cars look taller and less aggressive.
