An A35 puts, what, 300bhp through the front wheels?
50% wear for 5000 miles seems reasonable.

3. Retrofitting the seats from the A45 or A45S - bought new from Mercedes - to a used A35 will cost around the same as buying a whole A45, or refurbishing a cruise ship. Seriously, once paid for it will be to close in total cost to a A45 to be justifiable.3. I've seen a couple of A35s on Youtube with the AMG Recaros. Does anyone know roughly how much it would cost from Mercedes to get them fitted to a used car? I love the seats in the A45!
4. Cars I'm looking at are 2019 with mileage between 7-10k. Will look to get it serviced at MB. What would be required at this service interval, and any rough estimates on cost so I can factor it in to the purchase.
Potential new A35 owner here.
I'm currently looking for a new car to replace my 2015 370z Nismo.
Although I still love the looks of the car, I need something more practical with back seats as well as similar or better performance.
I've only ever had Jap performance cars, my previous cars were 2008 WRX STI, 2002 WRX, 2000 Civic Jordan, 1995 Celica.
This is my first foray into German territory.
My budget is around £35k and I've considered many cars in that range, RS3, M2, M3, M4 CLA45 and the A45.
I decided I wanted AWD, so that ruled out any BMs, and plus I really don't like their interiors.
Still on the fence with the RS3.
Although I'm not a huge fan of hatchbacks, I prefer the A45 to the CLA45, which to me just looks a bit weird, a coupe should be 3 doors imo.
So I narrowed it down to the RS3 and the A45.
In an ideal world I would get the 2020 A45 or A45s, but that's way over my budget.
But then I started watching reviews of the FL A35 and saw a few night drive videos where I literally fell in love with the ambient lighting. The cockpit is such a nice place to be!
Although I never considered the A35 before this, and granted, the RS3 and A45 will blow it away performance wise, for my money I can get a very low mileage almost new car with that amazing ambient lighting, compared to a relatively high mileage RS3.
The performance of the A35 is comparable to my previous 370z and even the STI, so I'm guessing that should also keep me happy?
1. Just wondering if anyone has moved from a PFL A45 to a FL A35, or even chosen the A35 over the PFL A45. Would be interested to hear about your thoughts over this decision.
2. How does the exhaust sound on comfort and Sports+, I like to be able to hear my car. My 370z is quiet as fook, but the STI was lovely with that boxer.
Do you get pops and bangs in Sports+?

One would assume its those seats he wants and not the std seats. Personally I find the std seats more comfortable, love the ambient lighting and the kids pad holders fit well in the gap.
Nope. Same as the AMG line I believe.I was under the impression those WERE the Standard Seats, all I did was Google Mercedes A35 Seats!
Me too. The fancy pants seats look incredible, but I can’t get along with them unfortunately, and for regular and long distance I need to be comfortable.Personally I find the std seats more comfortable
Yes agree this photo of you shows us these headrests might hinder you and your ladies comfort.Personally I can't get on with these seats because the headrest slopes forward too much. With the seat in a proper position it feels like it's pushing your head forward unnaturally so it forces you to run the seat too reclined to compensate.
No need to take it personally just because you have an A35. Grow up.Yes agree this photo of you shows us these headrests might hinder you and your ladies comfort.
I apologies just having a laugh. Sorry for any bad feelings....No need to take it personally just because you have an A35. Grow up.
I'm currently torn between an 2019 A35 and a 2018
In your opinion, which would keep its value better?
We have both. You should test drive both and see which you prefer. My partner has the A35 and I have the facelift C43 (385bhp).I'm currently torn between an 2019 A35 and a 2018 C43, both similar price.
Anyone able to convince me to pick an A35?
For me:
A35
More sporty look with the aero kit but may be a bit too boyracer (however I'd want the aero kit if I were to get one)
Love the ambient lighting and like above, is one of the main reasons why I am considering it, looks so futuristic at night!
Probably cheaper to maintain
I'm guessing the handling is better and probably more fun to drive since it's more agile?
C43
Classy looks, but a bit too executive for my preference
Better quality interior and seats
Better sounding V6 engine
In your opinion, which would keep its value better?
