C32 AMG W203 Estate
Hi All

I have C32 AMG W203 Estate and my wheels have not been in great condition from when I bought. I am thinking of getting them refurbed, does anyone know someone in the north hampshire/surrey/berks area?

What does it normally cost? Is it powder coating they do?

Many thanks
Richard

In my experience £50-60 seems to be the going rate for powder coating.

Sorry I can't recommend anywhere local to you.

Thanks Will...I assume powder coating the the best scenario? Dont know a great deal about the process

If that's per-wheel you can have them properly refurbished for less than that. Try Lepsons in Kent

There's loads of companies out there that offer this service - for longevity look for a place that strip the wheel to bare metal before refinishing it properly inside and out. Mobile cosmetic repairs can look ok for garage forecourts selling cars but seldom last as long.

Everyone will have a recommendation - but to be honest they are all much of a muchness :o

BJV Engineering in Flaunden offer a 9.5/10+ job for a fair bit less than the competition - I'm fussy and find the quality of their work perfectly acceptable for all but perhaps show cars/concours etc. They're wheels - they're going to get covered in brake dust, stone/tar damage and dare I say it even the odd kerb mark if you're human... ;)

The only downside for most people wanting full refurbishment is that you'll either have to leave your car off the road for a few days or borrow a spare set of wheels until they are ready. This may ultimately dictate the approach you might take?

I'm no guru, having only paid for it once myself.

I'm having a 2nd set done this week, again powder coated. This time the garage offered to wet paint and then laquer finish, but for £100. He's said this would be better than new finish. But I still went for the powder coating, as the wheels are nothing special, just curbed and oxidised.

Just popped into the Wheel Specialist company at Fareham, they quoted £350 all in for powder coating all 4 x AMG iV 18 inch wheels. Is that good value? anywhere else in Portsmouth/Southampton area?

I've just had mine refurbed for £180 that included chemical dip rework and powder coat. Its a place on canvey island called JP polishing I can highly recommend them. I'm fussy and they made a superb job perfect finish

I did get a tour round the factory, but £350 seemed high. Anywhere nearer to portsmouth, canvey island is a trek.

I have used Wicked Wheels of Guildford for over fifteen years now and i can recommend them .

Keven or James 01483 302227 Mobile 07765 254854 I pay £50 a wheel + vat

Does the £50 + vat inlcude taking tyres off and popping back on? Guildford is closer...
