Not reall sure they'd be necessary. Standard brakes are fine.

Are you thinking of fitting brakes from a W203 C32/C55 AMG, of a different/later model. I'd buy some C32 calipers next time they come up on ebay so you do a trial fit. If all looks good try with new discs and pads.

If it ends up looking like it won't be worth it, then you can sell them on and lose little, or maybe even make a little.

Thanks Bobby... I was hoping it'll just be a calliper swap, will the C32 calliper take the larger 340mm discs..?

You have a sport? there would be no benefit from fitting Amg brakes.

Doesn't the c220 cdi with sports package run a Single 57mm piston caliper with 330mm drilled disc brakes on the front?

Wouldnt the AMG caliper's from say a e55k be a benifit? he would have greater breaking power over a larger pad/friction area as i think they are 6 piston?

Also a more leverage being a larger disc?

Larger brakes only make a difference when braking from higher speeds.

on my 850 t5 i went from a single piston ate caliper to 4 Pot AP lockhead with a increase in disc size from 302mm to 325mm the braking difference at whatever speed i braked from was night and day

Standard brakes are capable of locking the wheels (to the point where ABS kicks in). So in normal driving larger brakes will not affect stopping distance etc. at all. Once wheels are locked, they're locked. It doesn't matter what disks/callipers you have.

Larger brakes may resist fade better under sustained heavy braking (track days etc.). Normally people fit them for cosmetic reasons though (they look good).

If you do change the brakes make sure you tell your insurance company.

No it runs a 4 pot setup.

This is largely correct. If your car does not currently suffer brake fade, the upgraded brakes will make no difference.

There may however be a difference in the feel - braking might prove either more or less progressive etc - different brake setups have different feel to them.

Additionally, racing brakes are designed for maximum performance when hot, and may not perform very well when cold.

But apart from that - if the brakes do not currently fade, any upgrade will be largely cosmetic.

Which is what i found on the volvo, and have had a fade issue on the MB only once tbh, but mines only a w211 cdi

I'm gonna take a guess here, being that the OP wants to create an AMG lookylike and wants to do it properly, as the first thing I do when I suspect an imposter is look at the brakes.

There's an E350 estate around these parts that has AMG body styling, exhausts, brakes, and even the different wings for the wider track.

It's very very hard to see it's not an E63, until it starts up or you look inside.

A few reasons why I wish to do this..
One being the look, it looks AMG'ish... Until you look closely. Brakes being the first give away.
Secondly, I feel the brakes do need to be improved upon, I don't suffer with brake fade but, being an auto, I feel that the standard brakes just dont cut it.... A larger disc will 'Always' give a noticeable improvement due to a more effective stopping moment, Due to the increased 'Turning' radius....!!......

We have Brembo 4 pot calipers our ML270 CDi and C32 AMG. I can confirm that on the ML they look like brakes on an 11 year SUV, but on the C32 they make you want to make this noise: "Corrrr"

Brakes stop Discs..........Tyres stop Wheels!

If you don't feel that sport brakes on a 2.1ltr diesel are up to the job you may have a underlying issue, seized caliper (a common complaint) or need a fluid change maybe.

My thoughts exactly.
