AMG Emblem

So what about this extreme example, just about everybody would have a good guffaw about this :D

But as you say, that is a extreme example and probably deserves a bit of a laugh at, but an AMG badge on a Merc, genuine AMG or not, to me is not a problem, only my opinion. 🙂👍

Hi,

The AMG boot emblem is past its best im afraid & have been looking in the usual places for a replacement. All the ones i see are too long 185mm, mine is 20 x 165mm and is from the AMG line, not a full AMG.

I was just wondering if any of you lovely people would know where i could get the tje right sized one.

Thanks

Paul
Ignore the purists, Ebay & Amazon are your friends. Plenty of choice but read the small print & examine the illustrations carefully. Most are indistinguishable from what a Merc. stealer will rob you.

Well it don’t on mine!!!
That's because yous is a thorough bred AMG, mine says this, AMG Line ! Even though i've just noticed that it says 204 when it should read 205 :)

I personally wouldn’t dream of doing what OP wants to do, but that’s me, we are all different, his car his choice, yes have seen a few non amg cars with amg badges, do I laugh, not really, and many enthusiasts can’t be fooled.

It is a bit odd though, just like people wearing fake goods, one can’t lie to one’s self, u know it’s fake, even though some others may not.

I was on holiday last week saw an 8V audi S3.

Thought i would take a closer look. Looked legit then i looked at the milkbottle top brake discs and was like okay okay this is a fakey we have here.

Looked inside windows sline on the seats.

Why though if you want an S3 or AMG just bloody buy one. Sticking fake badges on a car is just silly IMO

AMG badge on an AMG Line car is no different to
S3 on an A3
M3 on a 318d

You look a plonker to put it simply

Well it don’t on mine!!!
I didn't say that 🤣🤣

Mine says amg premium plus . But because it's diesel it's the body kit and amg wheels ,that make it amg . A true amg is petrol. Diesels just get amg add ons .

What made me say that was that on your profile it says C63 :)
Yes I had to let that go sadly😟 WBAC
C350 AMG Sport Plus CDI was the closest I could get to it with 40+ MPG instead of 15MPG
No brainier when it’s your daily!

What a fun bunch that must be! Must do loads for their sense of superiority.
I always think it strange that this forum notifications come into my Junk and the other forum notifications come in to my inbox. What is that trying to tell me ? :D

As some people commented when I first bought my C200 earlier this year; someone had already put an AMG badge on it. I have zero intention of removing it, though I wouldn't have bothered putting one on it myself. I already had some AMG floor mats from my previous company car, so I have fitted them.

And people who don't know MB don't care
My neighbour had no clue until I told him it was just a badge, but then the same guy though my 16 plate must be a personal plate because he thought the car was brand new.

Maybe not but witnessing all the indignant huffing & puffing makes it worth while.

For this reason alone I'll leave mine on, plus all the unasked for comments on my detailing thread 'helpfully' telling me how to remove it. I've taken badges off in the past and found them hiding marks/scratches, so I'd rather leave it on than discover that: They would bother my OCD far more. But it's worth leaving on just for the huffing and puffing.

Indeed. If it's the one I'm thinking then there are a lot of 'superior' characters on there...

I own a genuine 1979 Ford Escort RS2000 and there are plenty of 'replicas' around, usually built up using parts from scraped cars and based on more basic 1.3 Popular bodyshells. I don't have a problem with them, even if they still have the 1.3 engine under the bonnet (lets face it even mine isn't that fast compared to modern cars). At least they've got an interest in cars and obviously take some pride in them. I'd have more respect for them than someone leasing a fancy motor and acting all superior about it...

The S205/W205 were type approved as S204/W204 with modifications, that's why some documentation and even the plate in the door shut might appear to be incorrect - mine is the same, says W204 in the door shut.

This is because when the 205's were to be type approved the regulations around air conditioning fluids changed and new type approval required a different fluid which would have required extra fire suppression. So MB cheated to avoid this cost.

How many M badged BMW'S do you see with the weedy single std exhaust. Almost every second one. If they are happy sitting at the lights going brmm brmm, I'm not going to ruin their day.

And then there's the kids, usually in baseball caps, with the noisy exhausts on a tiny engined motor.
