At this point i must tell you that the Playboy sticker i had in the window of my MK1 Cortina in the 1970's was the nuts, or so i thought

And then there's the kids, usually in baseball caps, with the noisy exhausts on a tiny engined motor.

Funny how we tend to forget what we were like when we were young. I'll confess I put a cherry bomb on my Mk2 Escort and took the air filter out because it sounded more sporty. It was a daft thing to do looking back, but I was young and so are the baseball cap guys (well most of them apart from the sad old guys pretending to be young, but just covering up their bald heads ).

Oh the shame.!!

It certainly undermines any possibility of me critiquing anybody's AMG badges (although I'll admit to being tempted by one of those OMG mickey-take badges they sell on fleabay , for my ratty old Vito 109)

Errr thanks. I nearly always wear a Baseball cap, mostly because I have sun damage on my follically challenged scalp. Pic below

Sticking on aftermarket AMG badges really doesn't make it any quicker

But as you say, that is a extreme example and probably deserves a bit of a laugh at, but an AMG badge on a Merc, genuine AMG or not, to me is not a problem, only my opinion.

I don’t understand. What would be the reason to put an AMG badge on a car that is not an AMG?

The guys with fake badges on their cars are probably the same group that buy knock-off designer gear are “faking it till they make it”!

Ignore the purists, Ebay & Amazon are your friends. Plenty of choice but read the small print & examine the illustrations carefully. Most are indistinguishable from what a Merc. stealer will rob you.

Hopefully you take it off when indoors.

I wear a lightweight ‘flat cap’ when driving with the roof down or a properly brimmed hat when outdoors. Going bald has never bothered me but that bare patch seems to burn easily.

As do i, Rory, AMG mats and Original wheels, personally I like the de-badged look, looks much better, but anyone who does have an AMG badge on (as long as it's a Merc) so what? doesn't bother me in the slightest.
