An Xmas do

Travel back down in convoy with me then.
I have to be back in Kent early too.

I'm not such a resilient bloke as you are - at my age a hangover and long driving at unsociable hours don't work very well  :D.

Reading back, I see the weekend before was suggested earlier, funny enough that would not have worked either as my better half is flying out to his parents for Christmas early next Sunday

PMSL
I see what you did, even if others didn't.
Secret's safe;)

Oh they did - I'm just holding it for when I make his next cappuccino - a' la Baldrick

I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get back home if I ever make it to a gtg up north

Course you would chuck - you're a gent - not a scumbag :D

Up north is a bit like Royston Vasey (sp?)
Once you enter, you can never leave:crazy:

LOL, very funny :D

Well, I'll be in York for a meeting on Wednesday, but I think I'll give the coffee a miss .

Would love to, but I'm on the train - about half the travel time from London.

Get to York, have board meeting, get on train back to London, in time for another event in the evening

I must say, though, the train connections with London are very good. :)

They are - but it's no longer GNER from today so be interesting to see what it's like next week. only takes about 2 hours and was generally very reliable.

Have a good trip up.

 I have GNER tickets IIRC - should I be worried?

Yes, I was quite pleased to see that. I often drive around the UK to meetings, but in this case the train journey was just the better option.

Have a good trip up.

Cheers! :)

Nah, we're very good at eating and drinking, but you would not win a war with us :D.

In fact, I remember from doing my military service that a lot of the soldiers in my platoon were not very sure which side of the riffle to aim at the enemy  :D.

Faint heart ne'er won fair maiden........ :D

It's a fair bloke I got myself, remember .

I think Malcolm knows and was taking the P from PMSL;)

I genuinely did not know what it meant but I did PMSL when I found out :D:D

You all forget that I am just a country lad that led a sheltered life
