Hi, I am just posting this up so as to raise awareness of some development work going on the Android developer community.

If you are interested in the whole SAP compatibility issue with the MB Bluetooth module, then you may be interested in tracking - or even assisting with - this development project to get rSAP working on HTC Android phones.

Welcome to android-rsap.com

At the moment, the MB SAP module only appears to work with Nokia phones and a few other SAP-enabled devices (most interesting of which is probably the Samsung Galaxy S). The developer who runs this website is building a SAP plug-in for the HTC range of phones equipped with Android OS. Initial results appear to be encouraging, though there is still some way to go....

I can confirm that it is now possible to use the Mercedes SAP V2 with an Android phone. Working perfectly with my HTC Desire.

Until now I have been using a SIM card in the module and hence having two mobile numbers! I don't want a Nokia.

Can you elaborate? I have the SAP v2 cradle and a Nexus One (not rooted yet). I'm happy to go through the rooting process but it would be nice to know there's a definate reward at the end. :) For example, which version of Android are you running? And what functionality works/doesn't work?

Mercedes make a good car but when it comes to integrating with the outside world they leave a lot to be desired! :wallbash:
