Annoyed by overtaking

Lol I assume that's aimed at me? I've been pulled up on it before on this forum. I am crap at spelling. Don't be a hater tho. I'm a good bloke in general just didn't listen at school.

When you see everyone getting off the Motorway, look straight ahead for any sign of a mushroom-shaped cloud.

Then made a big deal of driving round the roundabout to hog it and then pulling as far right as possible on a single lane of traffic.

Didn't wipe the smile off my face and I just wafted past when the opposite direction was clear shortly after.

Why did they do that? Who knows. Little people with little agendas probably.

I overtake everything. Luckily there are a lot of very nice roads around here that have suitable spaces for it. 800ft/lbs torque helps with this

I love overtaking, it's in the top three of "what's the point in owning an AMG?"

I think a few have already hit the nail on the head: there are a massive number of drivers who lack the judgement and skill necessary to make a safe overtake, and therefore view anyone who does have the required competence as some kind of maniac when they use it.

And if you have the ability to read the road ahead properly combined with the visibility to make the manoeuvre safely, then overtaking on a bend seems to be enough to drive most of the "they're all maniacs" brigade into a state of apoplexy

Knowing how to overtake safely is important as it allows motorists to pass obstacles such as slow moving lorries etc.

But overtaking can also be easily abused...

Like most things in life, overtaking is neither right nor wrong, it is just a matter of applying it safely in the right circumstances.

I get this a lot. I was on a stretch of dual that had a traffic light and merged into a single. I was in the right hand lane in the c32 and easily overtook the other car and he flashed me for overtaking???

I may as well buy a 1.8 diesel

I think the problem with "drivers" objecting to being overtaken is even simpler, it's laziness.

Switch the brain off and just cruise along a few feet behind the bloke in front.

When you overtake these members of the Anti-Destination League, it's more hazardous than it need be because they are tailgating eachother.

They Flash/gesticulate because they really want to do the same. They have just forgotten how to.

It's very sad, but it shouldn't stop you driving WITH THE OBJECT OF GETTING SOMEWHERE. You might just have to wait a bit longer for a safe overtaking opportunity.

Once these lamebrains are behind you, they no longer matter.
