Another 'hidden' good Dell PC offer

I've noticed another un-advertised good deal hidden on the Dell website ..

Their website says the Dell Dimension 5150 series starts from £549 inc delivery, VAT and 1 year warranty.

In fact, using one of the magic short-codes, there is a dual core (i.e two processors on one chip)
Dimension 5150
Pentium-D 820 (DUAL CORE 2.8Ghz)
17" flat screen
512Mb ram
80Gb 7200 rpm disl
DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive

for £429 - which seems very good to me.

You can have the same without a monitor for £376 aswell - but if you don't need the monitor i'd buy it and sell it on ebay

These offers make the 5150 cheaper than the model below (Dimension 3100) for similar configuration without the Pentium D.

Follow the appopriate link below, and then in the 'Cover it with Dell Support Services' select the 'No service upgrades' box

Sometimes prices drop at the weekend, so this may get cheaper, or it may be a mistake and dissapear when they next do price updates in a day or so time !!

OK, things have changed

The £429 system has gone up to £479 but you now get 1G of memory (in my book thats not such good value, extra 512MB does not cost £50)

The £376 system is now £353

So to summarise, follow the link and set the 'Cover it with dell support' back to 1 year to get these prices/systems

BUT, imho the £479 offer is not as good as yesterdays £429 offer .. so unless its urgent hold off until I spot the next interesting one.

I was on the prowl for a new pc for work & just got the order for this one accepted by dell. As i get the VAT back I reckon it was deal .. :bannana:

Careful...the 51xx series of lappys are renouned for excessive heat, make sure you keep it well ventilated.

The ones above are desktops not lappys !

Also, the £479 system now only comes with 512MB (even less good value), but theres a £499 system with a 19" monitor and free McAfee, but only a DVD-ROM.

Personally, unless you want the system without the monitor, i'd wait a bit ..
