Another MAS problem on 230 SLK???

Coming home tonight I was giving the car a bit of grief when suddenly it was as if I was running out of fuel. I backed of the throttle and the car recovered so Iput my foot down again only for it to "switch off" again
The fuel consumption has not been very good on the car since I bought it (2 months) about 25 mpg at best driving gently
Is this MAF territory?

Not sure, but Shude has exactly the same problem with the same engine. Hmm.

Well I'm gonna look and see if I can take out the MAS and see if it's mucky---any idea where it is on a SLK
