Another Wheel Fitment Question W211

Hey guys

I am looking to buy w212 wheels to go on w211

Upgrading from from 16" to 17"
16" x 7.5J ET 42 225/45/16 tyres
17" x 8J ET 48 245/45/17 tyres

Here fitments result I got

Old New
Diameter 653.9mm 652.3mm
Circumference 2054.3mm 2049.3mm
Poke 53.3mm 53.6mm
Inset 137.3mm 149.6mm
Speedo error 0% 0.25%
Reading at 30mph 30mph 30.07mph
Reading at 60mph 60mph 60.15mph
Ride height gain 0mm -0.8mm
Arch gap loss 0mm -0.8mm


My main worry is inset 12.3 mm in, will it cause issues with tyre rubbing.

What do you think?

Have a grope around your standard wheels and see what you think inner arch liner and strut leg.
And whats poke?

I cant measure it proper, but managed to get 4 fingers between wheel and suspension on rear wheel (which should fit fine)
But front, hardly can get to fingers between suspension leg and wheel.

Poke only 0.3mm difference which should be fine

You've got it way wrong.

Your old tyres...225/45 16 have a diameter of 609mm.

The new ones...245/45 17 have a diameter of 652mm.

That's nearly two inches greater.

Unless you have typo and you meant the old tyres are 225/55 16...in which case the diameter is 654mm....which is OK.

Front 18x8.5 ET30 tyres 255/40/18
Rear 18x9.5 ET33 tyres 285/35/18

Looking on Mercedes-Benz Fitting Chart and Wheel Fitment Guide | Alloy Wheels Direct
looks like these should fit.

The only thing I am not sure AMG/Brabus suspension set up is different to Avantgarde? Will these fit fine to w211?

If it is any help to you, the ET for my W211 E55 is the same at ET30 and ET33 and I have Brembo brake calipers fitted which may or may not be slightly larger than MB calipers.
I would say those wheels will fit your car.

Yes wheels are from SL350

At the moment they have 255/40/18 fronts and 285/35/18 tyres, tyres will last couple month. I am planing to put correct tyres in future, but for now won't afford wheels and new tyres. Just wanted to make sure SL350 set up will work on e320

In that case I have no idea, the rear tyres will be 20mm wider so no idea if you will have clearance issues. It will also depend on the tyres fitted as stupid as it sounds some brands of 285 tyres are wider than others as well as having different shape sidewalls.

same here bit confused as in chart Brabus ET35 with 285 tyres should fit w211

Anyway just bit bullet and bought them

Will my current wheel bolts fit with these wheels or do I need longer ones?

Just finished fitting wheels on my W211, all seems to be fine, a lot clearance on rear wheels and fronts seems to spin freely.
Very pleased with wheels, ride hight slightly higher, but hoping it will settle a bit after drive.

What tyre pressure should I run new wheels?

Used to put 35-36psi in my 16"

These are 285/35/18 on rear and 255/40/18 fronts.

I think the tyre pressure is the same whatever size tyre is being fitted.
