Any idea on the price of an AMG rear exhaust on an A class

Hello

Wifes A class has had a rattle from the exhaust for a little while, was told during the service it could be the cat. Then informed it was a braket round the exhaust.

Just took it to a local garage where I know the owner and put it on the ramps, turns out its the back box gone. Its actually gone quiter over time guess its braking up inside)


Any idea on how much the back box / center pipe would be on a A class (A210 lwb)

I thought great at least its not the cat as they are big bucks but....but it might be ?

Garage ringing me back tomorrow as it was 5.30pm when I took it and part has to come from Mercedes.......


Should be interesting, just as I'm praising the car for 'cheap' motoring. Saying that we have had it three years so its still good assuming its not silly money

Apparently the chrome trims are a pain to remove and then need spot welding on? It comes just as two weeeeeedy pipes.

Bet they've just got a captive allen bolt underneath that clamps them on !

Bet they come back with about £500 , when people see the word AMG , the £££ signs start spinning in their eyes !!

The part you're talking about is basically just decorative isn't it? That's not a backbox it's a y-shaped pipe with chrome AMG tips. I'd be interested to see them though!

No its the complete centre pipe then the back box which exits to two pipes. The decoration 'part' are the AMG tips at the end which are spot welded onto the two exhaust pipes.

For £250 it does look a lot of part?

Update

Went to Mercedes Chester on way home and asked for part,

£155 inc vat etc. Rang 'my man' who will fit it for £30 so now £185 all in... great.


The chrome pipes x 2 are £90 each plus vat....!!! apparently just screwed on underneath so WD40 and some swearing should see them come off.... seems daft that they cost more than the exhaust..

My ML has them embosed in on each one A M G but the wifes A210 they are just chrome.

Its atually a A210 Evolution. Although its listed in the AMG brochure and even the part came back as AMG...


God knows how much extra for embosed
