Any keycodes to activate features?

Hi, first time post...

It's common for electronic systems to be a standard platform, with software keycodes to unlock extra features.

So, I am wondering if there are any keycodes to activate features that are normally cost-options (TV, COMMAND, etc)? If so, anyone done this and can advise?

I just got a new E250CDI SE on lease, with standard spec and I had no opportunity to add any options.

Welcome to the forum.

There are some features that can be 'unlocked' as you say, though this is done using the Mercedes Benz STAR diagnostic equipment, and not by some sort of code.

However... this only applies to features that do not require additional hardware. For example, on the C-Class, cornering fog lights (for Bi-Xenon cars) and Tyre Pressure Monitoring were after-market cost-options, but in fact all the dealers did was to connect their STAR kit to the car and enable these features.

But the features you mention - TV, COMAND - require additional hardware which need to be purchased and installed and can not be simply 'unlocked'.

IIRC all new Mercs now require SCN coding and 'additional' features cannot be enabled unless the correct information is on the datacard. The new code is then released from Germany.
