Looking for a used spare inc. tyre for a W202, ideally somewhere local to Southport n/w.

Cheers,
Alex.

As cheap as, I've just missed an auction-only item that went for £5.50 on ebay with a new tyre plus p&p, so I'm loathed to pay the top prices that breakers' yards want for a spare.

Let me know if you can help.

Cheers,
Alex.

Breaker is your best bet. New price from MB is around £50-55 so this probably means a £20-25 price----- factor in a part worn tyre as part of the package---- and £25 for an used spare wheel in good condition [ no rust or dings] that has sat in the boot of some car for years would be reasonable. :dk:

I've just put my summer wheels back on and picked up a pair of decent tyres already on the correct steel rims for about £30 the pair from ebay. I subsequently dumped 2 of my old wheels with reasonable tyres (reasonable for a spare at least), if you'd have been nearer you could have had them for nothing, thats how little they cost.

Bummer!

I assume 'dumped' as in... 'Never to be seen again'. :(
I wouldn't have minded paying the postage cost. Not to worry there's a W202 wheel on ebay at £35 inc. P&P which doesn't sound like bad value.

Cheers anyway,

Alex.

steel wheels on ebay being sold by a private seller who "wants to get rid of them" sell for next to nothing even with tyres on them. A whole set will probably be £30. Breakers must have hundreds lying around.

Exactly. Alex please don't go paying £35 for one wheel, keep looking on ebay, search for your tyre size and use phrases such as 'Mercedes 15" wheel' 'Mercedes wheel & tyre' 'Mercedes C wheel' etc and eventually you will weed out some that are being overlooked as they are not worded clearly.

And sadly yes, by dumped I mean I took my old wheels/tyres to the local council dump for recycling.

Alex, what size are you looking for? Do you just want a useable spare with reasonable tread on a steel wheel - any tyre brand preferences? Just the one needed? Let me know and i'll keep my eyes open for you, i've got a quiet afternoon and will probably end up on ebay at some point.
