What would be the cost, excluding the donor engine, to transplant one of those engines intoa W124?

There must be something in the water. Earlier I was looking at prices for converting the early SMART to a Suzuki bike propulsion system. The price put me off. I reckon Olly could shoehorn this 55 engine in for less!!

Its all about the fuelling and ignition though isn't is ?

the physical fitmet is a doddle. The difficult part is the wiring up.

I can't even think how hard that would be???? 5k?
