Anyone fancy a meet on SE London

Thank you to everyone that came along, the weather was good as well as the company

Paul:I forgot my camera home mate but Billy did take a few shots so he`ll post them later

no probs dash,

ill post em up later on tonight. Saw an SLR on the way back too, snapped that up and all!

Great to see all you guys. Lovely cars, lovely day. Thanks for nailing it together.

How on earth do you Southern's deal with all the speed limits down there and the road works. Its like living in a concrete police state with the road up. Coming back up the M1 there was a variable speed limit of 50MPH. I should have been 80!! A bright clear day, no fuss, no bother just a sodding nause of a 50 restriction. Got a really good view of all the road works though!!

Ill leave Ian to tell you of how his car ran.

Hope you and Ian had a good journey back up, good of you both comming all the way down to London.

Speed limits and road works...you get used to it! The way i went back this afternoon was the A406 North Circ, the complete opposite of my (surprisingly un-conjested) nice blast on the M25 this morning.

Camera after camera was the summary on the journey home and stuck in traffic where i glimpsed the SLR.

No Probs Jonny, :thumb:

..look after your mint interior!!

That NSX is just pure sex.

Whose is the red 124 coupe ?

NS-Sex!

its dash's red coupe he's got for sale

Lovely , he should drop the 36 engine in that and bin the rest.

I nearly bought a red 124 coupe once.

..its proper in your face that coupe, the paint is original too, not faded one bit, it looks wicked

I had a red Honda Accord Aerodeck once , keeping it red was like painting the Forth bridge , once you got to the end , you had to start at the front again , the paint went powdery that quickly ...

Spent more time polishing it than driving it.

Lovely , he should drop the 36 engine in that and bin the rest.

I've no need for a coupe Howard otherwise I would have kept it + I like my saloon more

Sorry I didnt make it, I went to Kempton and didnt get home until very late

John: Shame my jump starter was dead, really wanted Ian to hear the sound of it
Billy can tell you more about it

The alarm rang at 5am. Jumped out of bed trying not to wake the Mrs. Threw the window open and yes, its morning. I know cause I heard the sparrows coughing. Quick coffee then of to pick up John and fill the car up with unleaded super from his local Esso Garage (that hurt). A nice bimble down the M6 / M1 using cruise testing my new tyres (Yokohamas) Quite pleased with the grip. I am quite sure that the Evil Twin is invisible to other road users as people keep pulling out in front of it. Anyway, things went to plan, i.e. John drove thought the road works at 50mph. :D. Changed drivers again on the M25 and followed Slack Alice's directions on Sat Nav. Gosh we are too early . Round to Dash's place for a coffee and ended up on my back under Billy's car removing his rear box.. Ok now to the venue. Met old and new and really enjoyed myself. Good nosh and a couple of pints. Filled up again with Esso regular unleaded this time and noted that we averaged 25mpg on the way down. Got home and did another fuel check. 28 mpg this time. Thinks I will stick to regular fuel as no noticeable difference in performance was noted. All in all a really good day. Shame some of our Southern Cousins couldn't make it but I understand the reasons why.

so went back to dash's, pack was charged up so we started it up.

It sounds very good i must admit, the thing is when idle its quiet but at the same time has that slight deep bellow sound.

When the motor is revved, the exaust note gave a honed and quite a deepish sound. Doesnt sound 'tinny' and defo not boy racer saxo type.

i liked it very much actually. :thumb:

Thanks Dash for arranging this GTG, was still determined to make it even though I couldn't bring the car, and here's the reason why:

Sincere apologies to all for not attending yesterday but have only just surfaced after eating something that was clearly 'dodgy' on Saturday evening. Hope it all went well and everyone enjoyed themselves in the lovely weather which my wife told me about!

Both yourself and Charles missed out on a quarter pound of Crumbly Lancashire Cheese each. Went lovely with my Ploughmans Lunch today.

I think Ill give next years GTG in London a miss. Olympics and all that.
