Anyone friends with somebody really famous?

My cousin is Timothy Spall, actor from various series like auf wiedersehen pet and various films more recently....

Absolutely cracking actor, I hope he's a nice guy in real life, not like most of them, up their own backsides.

Met Andy Cole once, one of my heroes till I met him, proper ********.
I always say to myself, keep them as heroes but never meet them, especially after that episode.

I'm quite friendly with a very well known (and quite private) guitarist. We do a few charity gigs during the year, and he and is wife were recently round for dinner with a few others to discuss this years events.

Through him I've met David Bowie, Phil Manzanera, Guy Pratt, Mike Rutherford, Pete Townsend, David Crosbie, Graham Stills, Eric Clapton, Jules Holland, Sam Brown and a bunch of others. All were very nice, friendly people - happy to chat, etc, apart from Mr Holland who was a bit of a grouch. None of these would be friends, just aquaintances, although I've played with Phil and Guy a few times.

You´ve got me wondering who it is now. :)

Jimmy Page? Jeff Beck??

Jimmy Page used to live next to my dad near Farnham.

I got an example the other way around!! When Frank Lampard was at West Ham i went out drinking with him and his mates and cousins quite a few times, really nice bloke and had a good laugh each time. Not seen him for years but he seems like an idiot when i see him on TV etc now, but he was genuinely a nice guy before!!

I once gave a golf lesson to Michael Bloomberg and his wife at a Bloomberg corporate event - they were both really nice, polite and very down to earth (this was about 15 years ago but I am sure they would remember me well and describe me as a long lost friend ;), long before he became Mayor of NY).

I know lots of Tour Golf Pro's, too many to list here, I just wish I played like them, then I could have my SLR!

I'm friends with the bodybuilder and strongman Eddie Ellwood, he managed to take Arnold Schwarzenegger’s title and be the first person to win 5 Mr. Universe titles and also get a very (and I mean very) small part in the movie the 5th element:

YouTube - Eddie Ellwood (ENG), NABBA Universe 1999

I guess he's only going to be classed as famous by people into strongman\bodybuilding tho.

Every time I drove past the "Bar-L" on the way into Glasgow with the kids I used to point it out.

Also known as "The Big Hoose"

Went to school with Daniel Craig, Chris Boardman and also Matt Smith who's anchoring the Champion's League semi tonight. Different schools, same me. I was also Daniel Craig's sixer in cubs - beat that !

I've seen Andy Cole at close quarters and he is built like a bull!
One of Man Utd's top five strikers. He was superb.

When I was 8ish we used to own a newsagents in Chorlton called "The Daily Mail" and the old lady that George Best lodged with used to come in for the newspapers.

My Mum or Dad somehow swung it for me and my sister to have lunch with George. It was something simple -Sandwich, cake and a cup of tea.

I don't think he spoke a word to us. He sat with us at the table and his eyes never left his newspaper.

That can only be the incomparable David Gilmour. The connection with Phil Manzanera, Guy Pratt, Crosbie, Stills, and Sam Brown is just too much of a coincidence.

I would have been in awe of the man. A true legend.

Not me, but my dad is good friends with Ray Hatton and Ricky Hatton.
Anyone beat that!!!

Not me , of course. I don`'t wanna be famous.

Had the chance to meet famous people over the past years: Ken Livingstone, Boris Johnson, Madonna, Shania Twain, Phill Collins, Sir Roger Moor, Sir Rod Stewart, Justin Timberlake etc.

As my cousin works for Armada Music Europe as a DJ/Producer , i can say hes famous( had 2 albums released, tours around the world).

Loved talking to Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, BT, Andy Moor, Inna, Mike Koglin, Roger Shah.

Im friends with few of them . We meet every now and then , when we can. :)

QUOTE: I once shared a jacuzzi with Robbie Williams, but I shall say no more.
