Anyone got an elegant fix for W124 Headlight

I need to replace the headlight lens on my S124. It's suffering from the common problem of broken tabs that should hold the lens in place at the top. I have searched in vain for a suitable clip or clamp to use. Any ideas?

Shouldn't it have C shaped spring clips that hold the lens on?

There should be a tab on the main body of the headlamp but they break off....

Other manufacturers use stainless C clips, either get, or make some.
