Dear all

I am a BEng student in Manufacturing Engineering student at the University of Nottingham in the UK.

For my final year project, I am conducting research into drivers’ use of new technology within their vehicles. I am particularly interested in people who have experience driving the following vehicles: BMW 750Li, Ford Taurus, Honda Accord (model after 2006), Mercedes-Benz E,S class (model after 2006), Volvo XC60,V70, XC70, S80, Toyota Prius series 3, Lexus EX.

If you have driven any of above cars, please could you spare some of your valuable time and fill in the survey at the following link QuestionPro Survey - Collision Warning System
The survey has been designed to take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

you may contact me by email at the email address: [email protected]

Yours sincerely,
T

Hmmm... collision warning system, what like the missus screaming you mean :D

Sorry , but the only collision warning systems on my cars are the HORNS and the HEADLAMPS .

Needed another 32 British people to complete my survey please help me sir T_T

Ah, I forget the on your Pontons you will not have the Post Collision Warning System in the shape of a beige fabric bag rapidly expanding in front of the driver... :D

Yes, if anyone ever develops a collision avoidance system for this, I'll be interested... :D

The problem with a motor vehicle collision warning system would be reaction time. Normally you only have a fraction of a second to react so what use would one really be? I already have a low velocity collision warning system...parking sensors.

I just did the survey... the name seems misleading, because it is not just about warning to the driver - it is also asking about other systems that operate when a collision is detected or anticipated, such as BAS, seat belts pre-tensioner, automatic closing of windows etc. These systems are indeed based on sensors but are automated and outside the driver's control. I think it is more about active safety in general, rather than specifically about collision warning in the way we would normally understand or use this term.

Thank you for your comment sir, I needed to link it with active safety in order to analyse it about human factors sir :thumb:
