Will be atempting my Nokia CARK-91 install next week, and whilst there is plenty of info on the W203 C class I can't find anything for the 209 CLK.

Rest of the facia plate and centre console is the same, but as I have the two round air vents (a la SL !) rather than the oblong unit of the C class I am stumped.

There is a plastic clip on the inside of each vent ( at 9 oclock on the passenger side one, and 3 oclock on the drivers side), but even wedging a flat screwdriver behind each clip doesn't release anything. It may be the vents are very tight in the surrounding dashboard but I don't want tao use brute force at this stage

I cannot see any torx screw heads though the vents either - can anyone confirm whether there are any at the top edge of the facia plate ?

The one on my W203 took a while to get out. Was SOOOOO tight it was unreal. Might just need a tug.

Having looked into this just now .. i was on the dashmount site and got the following info which may or may not be useful

71214.jpg

71214 Mercedes CLK W209 2002>

1. Open the ashtray.

2. Unclip the gear shift gaiter from the front section: pull up and slide back.

3. Remove the ashtray insert by unclipping the two retaining tabs at the front.

4. Remove the two Torx 20 screws at the base of the console and lever the trim forwards.

5. Locate the bracket with the screw and guide pin to the left of the heater matrix.

6. Refit the fascia, screws, ashtray and gaiter trim.

Thanks,
It looks from that set of instructions there are no other screws at the top of the facia on the CLK.
