I am in need of 2x 255/30/19's for the rear of my car. Well, I wasnt until I had a puncture just now that will not be fixable. Seeing as they are at 4mm I will have to replace both.
Conti 3's on at the moment which have been fine, but I think I will try the Michelin SS now. I presume its ok to run Conti's on the front and Michelin on the back.
Anyone know of any deals that I may have missed? I dont mind buying four if it works out cheaper!
Off to do more research.
Thanks.

I personally prefer to run the same tyre pattern on all four corners, as some cars can be sensitive to different patterns on the front versus rear axle, nevermind left versus right sides.

So I'd stick with what you have, or change all four, but not mix.

Try Event tyres - they're mobile, have great prices, and repuation is superb. I've used them and would recommend.

Ok,found my tyres online at £210 each - Michelin SS. Went round the corner to my local ATS and they have agreed to price match. Just have to make sure they don't damage the rim like last time! They did buy me a new one though,to be fair.

aahh..sadly event tyres doesn't cover cardiff area ;(

Camskill are about the cheapest for tyres only online. Don't ignore your local tyre dealer though - they can sometimes be cheaper despite the buying power of the big names.

Delivery £3 per tyre, local fitting £20 for 4. Still cheaper compared with Black Circles, Event etc.

Agreed .

My local guy will try and price match Camskill if he can , if he can't and the difference is small(ish) , i'll buy from him instead as it keeps him in business and he does me favours when they are needed.

Never paid more than £20 to get 4 tyres fitted and balanced there.

Just bought 4 x Toyo Proxies ( 285/50/18 ) from Camskill because he couldn't get near them at £130 each.

I've also used Event & found them to be reliable & the cheapest locally.....

I do the same. If the difference is less than £20 per tyre I use my local lad. Usually he's close, but occasionally he's nowhere near.

Blimey, round me its closer to £20 per tyre, so brings it close to the price of event etc..

You don't do it officially , you bung the tyre guy £20 when the boss is out ! lol

National Tyres wanted £90 each for my SEAT Tyres. Tyre Shopper quoted £60 for the same ones. They then sent me to National Tyres to get it done as they have no actual forecourts. Bargain ! Not put Tyres on the SLK yet!

+1.
I like to keep business local where possible.

Event Tyres can't be bettered. I always go back there. If the tyre rating you want is not on the website they can get the exact one you want.

New Avon's 275/55/R17, x 4 £485 via TyreShopper, without tracking, new track rod going following days, so tracking will be done then....

Just watch for a bit of understeer. Ss are much more sticky than the Conti 3.
