Hi All.

I am thinking of buying a nice 08 model to run for a year or so whilst I await the C63 facelift so was wondering what the verdict was? I've never really been a fan of the CLK TBH, it tends to say 'hairdresser' for me, but in AMG form it looks much less effeminate, and of course has that engine. I'm just wondering what they are like to drive, are they as exciting as an AMG should be?

I'm planning a test drive on Friday/Saturday, just thought I'd try and get some views first.

You could eat your dinner of any part of Rash's CLK63 although when you say "Hairdresser" image, thats right up Rash's street ;-)

I was going to say nahh get the E63, but i dont see any CLK63 amgs about so be different, and its still and amense car.

Just had a look at Rashman's gallery, some good photo's and a very nice looking car. I'm hoping he'll see my post and give me some idea what it drives like.

I always thought of the SLK not the CLK as having the "hairdresser" image:dk:

I was referring more to the convertible really, not my thing convertibles, I've never quite seen the point especially in this country, but I do think there is something quite feminine about both the slk and clk, just a personal thing really. Actually it sounds quite ridiculous when I think about it, but cars do have this affect on people! Now having questioned the sexuality of people who drive CLK's I have to say that the one I am considering does look very good in black and I wouldn't worry at all about my image when driving it:D

'It' as in Rashman? Probably nice and tidily. :D

Er - apologies for the double post.... smileys always catch me out....

Te he:D I did mean the car, but maybe he'll give me some tips.

Hey Biffo!

Great news to hear that you are considering a CLK63... especially in coupe form!

It is an awesome car!

I'm with you, I don't really see the appeal in convertibles.. it only adds weight, spoils handling and gives you a material roof to worry about keeping clean.

I'll respond to your PM later tonight when I'm back from work!

I'm not one for caring what people think, but I have to say that there is nothing feminie about the way a CLK63 looks!

Oh and Baldguy, less of the jip! LOL :D

... can we expect to see you at any more meets or are you just going to continue heckling from the forum background as usual?;)

but please remember that, according to Mr Rashman, that the CLK63 is rarer than the CLK Black Series :)

So don't expect to be able to buy a CLK63 without a lot sweat and toil :)

Mercedes-Benz World had an immaculate CLK63 for sale just before Christmas. Silver with black leather and only 5k miles (!)

IIRC the sticker price was about £40k odd, parked outside alongside the main building. No idea if it's still available, but must be one of the best available (for sale, that is ;))

LOL! :D

I knew you'd have something to say!

Well, here's an observation I have made...

I have seen 3 Black Series's in the flesh so far... and I have not seen another CLK63 (apart from one they had at Brooklands).

CLK63 rarer than the Black Series.

Hells Teeth and all that . ..

Never heard such Trollop in my born days!

Only 17 Right Hand Drive Black Series in the World, and .. ah forget it, must have banged my head!

LOL!!
:D

Not counting RHD ones, LHD ones, black ones, red ones, ones with sunroof, ones without and all that!

Black Series's are a dime a dozen in the States!

LOL!!

:D

Oh and while I am at it. lol.

Rash, you dont go anywhere to see another CLK63 AMG .. you are either indoors cause its raining or, so busy cleaning it to go anywhere!

Seriously though, my previous car was a CLK63 AMG (silver) 57 plate.

And in some ways it was a better car than the Black I have now. (4 Seats, less harsh ride, electric seats, etc) and I loved it.
But I Could not justify having both (which I did for 5 months). . .

And in the morning when I had to choose. . ah well, you know which one won.

Anyways, black cloth seats are easier to rub the spilt pasties and coke into when I miss my mouth.
(Please fetch Rash the Cardic Arrest machine!)
:D
