I certainly am but I'm not buying a new one. Possibly a 6 month old ex-demonstrator. Anyone seen one in the flesh yet ?

One pass me the other day, it was Black in colour and it looked absolutely beautifully, over my yeeeeeeeeeeears of driving i have had a few Jags and i must say i do like them :o :D

The only thing that puts me off the XF is the head lights  but other than that i think they look

I have seen a couple on the road and they do look very nice, but my fear would be the same as Culpano's hinting at (I think) depreciation - the problem with all Jags. Plus it's a good idea not to buy the first of any new range of car to allow the bugs to be ironed out.

See one every day.. they use the Road by the Belfry as a test road. They will even let you have a look round it when they park in the layby to make notes.. nice looking motor

Not sure I like the styling of the back doors? It is this that turns me off of the CLS.

Is that silver, or light blue? ;) It could be a blue back-drop to alter the silver of the car, but I still believe light blue looks very nice on a decent sized vehicle.

Looks slightly green to me :) , maybe to subliminally hint at eco friendliness?

Yes its odds on to be my next car just waiting for Jaguar do come back with a deal against the SLK350.

What car are saying that it will retain more of its value after 3 years than either the E Class or BMW 5 Series. The danger if there is one is who will own the company TaTa are favourites when Ford sell. The chassis and engines are well proven.

So a diesel Jag owned by TaTa.....some tractor that will turn out to be..:D

Elephant's Graveyard Beckons?

My fear is they are a company making big luxury cars without a "small car " range to balance up the forthcoming EUROPEAN "average emissions across the model range" legislation. I know they tried with the X type but I reckon Jaguar will just fade away quietly till they are just a motoring memory people will look back on with affection. I reckon that's what FORD foresaw as well when they pulled the plug.:(

When I went to the dealer to look for getting a new car I drove 2 jags, 2 Mercedes and a BMW. The Bemmer was fast yet uninspiring. Of the 2 jags. One was too big and thirsty, the other not not big enough (and very claustrophobic). I ended up with the C200K. It was an easy choice.
There has yet to be any jag I have seen and would buy and run as an everyday mode of transport. The only possible contender would be one of the remodelled "new" 2.4's originally from the 60's that some specialist are selling for around £80K.
Jaguar WILL go the way of Alvis, Humber, Armstrong and others. The only question is when.

I agree.

Advance orders on the XF would argue that Jag are not going down the pan, tests by What car and Autoexpress would suggest that you will be seeing lots of XFs on the roads, no I am not a Jaguar enthusiast I just think the XFis the bees knees.

Oh crockers the Jag diesel is thought by most to be the best there is, the twin turbo makes it a bit thirstier than some but its refinement and quietness is the best, better than MB..

Why the hell am I sticking up for jaguar XF, because I have driven one.

I like it v much, havn't driven one though.

Cost would be a significant factor if I could get one at the right price, compared to competition and the depreciation wasn't rocket powered like other jags..then maybe..... On the other hand if teh aforementioned was rocket powered I could wait a bit and get me a bargain....hmmm

Hello,

Just hope its better put together than my brother old company car a Jaguar 2.0d Sport estate, It looked nice, went ok (when it wasn't in the garage) but needed ALL sorts.

Gearbox was out 3 times
Radio stopped a few times
indicators went off
Hazards went off
pipes became lose
mirrors stopped folding
parking sensors stopped working.

Then there was the smoke...ok underneath was a Mundao... but at night if you gave it beans it was litterally a cloud of black smoke behind you.

so hopefully its come on a bit since the x type...

Saw a metallic red one this morning and it certainly had "presence".

They look a bit expensive, but apparently things like leather and sat nav are standard?

I note the tyre pressure monitoring system is £300 compared to £245 on the E-class.

I'm not sure about the seats but the detail is in the fine print this is an extract although the red is me highlighting a point, nice standard features though:

Bond Grain seats with leather seat facings (8/8 way) - Driver’s electric adjustment including fore/aft, height, cushion tilt, and recline, passenger’s electric adjustment including fore/aft, height, cushion tilt and recline.

copy of the standard fits on the XF
