A note of caution from someone who used Rainex some years ago: do not use it on plastic lamp lenses. It causes micro cracking to the surface of some plastics which after a while looks like the lens has "fogged".You can do all the side windows (brilliant) and mirrors/lights as well
As the tittle says anyone tried RainX rain repellent and does it work ?
Seems pretty highly rated on Auto Express. Any views from people that may have used it in the past ?
I used it on an Omega we had some years ago, and yes it did work - went from Birmingham to Lymington in torrential rain without the wipers.
One draw back I found is that if you do use your wipers - which you will at low speeds - it just makes a great big smearing mess.
I wouldnt advise its use at all really.
As other have said it smears with wipers.
I tried it on my helmet visor and it doesnt react well with spray off the motorway and is cosiderably worse than with nothing applied once the visor is less than perfectly clean.
For the side and back windows (and hemet visors) try plain old furniture polish like pledge or Mr sheen. It is just as effective, is much easier to apply and is cheap as chips.
