Are there any good main dealers for servicing that really know AMG's?

Hi All

I want to get a few things sorted on my 2004 E55 Estate. I have always used Tony Purslow MB in Guilford, they are generally good to deal with etc but have never really dealt with a few issues I have with my car. So am looking for a dealer that really knows their stuff with this engine and suspension. I know I may be better off finding a good specialist indy but I have a very expensive Tier 1 warranty and obviously would ideally sort any issues under warranty.

Any suggestions?

I'm in Surrey but wouldn't mind travelling if the right place!!

As above. I have a tier 1 warranty, almost like a new car warranty. Covers anything apart from wear and tear, however, must be serviced and repaired by Authorised dealer.

Haven't got any experience of using them for AMG work, but judging by the sheer number of AMGs that are always around, Hughes of Beaconsfield must surely have plenty of experience.

That's why I want to try another main dealer. As I said Tony Purslow have always been very good to deal with and helpful but..... I would like to try somewhere else to see if they can sort the issues I have for good.

The main issue I have is engine noise, basically it sounds what I would call very tappety! I understand these engines are not quiet but just think mine seems too loud. It has had some work done earlier this year under warranty with replacement of some of the hydraulic valve adjusters, which did help a bit but it is now just as bad again after only 4K miles. It would just be good to know that there was someone in the main dealer network that really knew all about the supercharged V8 as it is used in quite a few models.

I also have some suspension knocks.

I would recommend Tony Purslow, as they have always given me good service and for all other things they have been great. I just would like to take my car to someone who really knows this engine inside out.

I have heard good things about Olly continually on this forum, the trouble is he is not a main dealer so I couldn't get things resolved with him under my warranty.

It may be worth me dealing with him to give his opinion and investigate first though!!

yes, he looks after my CLS55 and looked after my previous 208 CLK55

Tonbidge sound like a good bet then and not too far from me to make it worth while giving them a go.
