Hi to one & all,

Am writing fm Singapore, bought myself a C63 recently & it's PARELLER Import (Not Main agent hence car not Tropicalised-am told) fm the UK. Built 09' Aug with P30 Sports Pack.

Hope all reading could contribute & will appreciate heaps for all suggestions & comments.

(1) Car Steering wheel seems/feels 'dis-jointed' & not like it's 'connected' with wheels & quite 'loose' when tarmac not too smooth.

(2) The Airconditioning can't compare with my ex cars like E46M3/05' 523 nor even a 06' Nissan Sunny  Certain time of the day-especially around 1+pm- 4pm these few weeks, Singapore weather temp hover around 37-38 degs Celsius & car airconditioning seems weak with temps turned to coldest & recirculating the air instead of drawing fm outside yet have this feeling like am being cooked inside out (Understand it's slightly exagerating but believe you'll get my drift)

(3) Since car not bought fm main agent, i couldn't bring car in for servicing as it'll be prohibitively expensive hence am hopping someone would advice what TRansmission OIl to use as i believe it needs to be changed at 1k mileage for it comes with LSD-can same oil use for non LSD equiped cars be used? What are the service intervals/ any filter needed/ vol per change ?

(3) Where & whom you can advice me to get 'Plug & Play' sport cats? Should i get them? Prefer not to weld.

TIA for your time spent in reading & forth coming suggestions :)

(1) check tyre pressure and tracking

(2) Tropical cars have more powerful a/c systems. UK cars do not. Maybe upgrade the a/c compressor to 'local' version?

Hi C240sports,

Tks heaps for pointing out tire pressure, yes have done it but still no diff :(. As for Aircon, tks will check it out as per your suggestion but have also read many Singaporean owners complains against their aircon effectiveness or lack of it even when it's Tropicalised specs when benchmarking against other Germans & Japs :(

Hi,

(1) When I first got my C63 I noticed the same 'characteristic' as you've described. I'm not sure of the correct terminology, but I think the steering on the C63 is less 'damped' or insulated from the road than on many other modern cars meaning you do feel more vibration than on other cars. It certainly is more lively than my previous e92 M3 which can be perceived as wobble.

There is actually nothing wrong and you do get used to it - I don't even notice it now and I'm incredibly fussy. The positive benefit of this is very good steering linearity and 'feel' which is far superior to the rather feel-less steering on the M3. In fact, I think it has one of the best and most feelsome of steering systems I have experienced in any modern car.

(2) I think C240Sport97 is spot on with his answer.

(3) The LSD needs an oil change with proper diff oil at 1800 miles and after that it is serviced at the regular intervals (the diff on the major services only I believe). The car needs servicing every 12,000 miles. When I had my diff oil done it cost about £100 for the oil and labour at a main dealer so it's not an expensive job.

(4) Kleeman seem to be the best regarded tuner and supplier of after-market performance products for these AMG's. They do K2 package which comprises sports Cats and a remap and I don't think these need any sort of welding. According to the Kleeman website, there is an agent in Singapore as follows:

Kleemann - Dealer Result

If money is no object then you can of course get the Brabus B63S upgrade - around 535bhp from a remap and replacement Cats and all backed by MB warranty! The only downside is that in the UK this costs about £10,000 as opposed to the Kleeman package which costs less than half that and delivers similar results!

I hope all this hasn't put you off the car and you enjoy it!

Yo Palmball,

Appreciative Thanks for your suggestions & feedback, please advise which Brand of Diff oil best suits car & how many liters needed per change? :)

TIA

Sorry but I don't know as I just left it to the dealer - I assume they used the right stuff (well, at least I hope they did!). When I go back to the dealer, I'll ask them what it was.
