At long last - Edna has new wheels

Taken some time waiting for the right ones to come along and thanks to ckember for selling me his wheels and the wonderful establishment over the wrong side o't'ills that is 124 Works for refurbing two and swapping the two full sets over. Edna now looks very smart!

Had a mini gtg at Ians with JPSKiller, Purple Godess, Last Minute, Shude and his BIL to be Dave - had a giggle. Betty's supplies were of course present and a good time was had by all

No - the orginals were 16" these are 17" and check the rim edges - the originals have a gully on them. The 17's don't

Now this is where it gets technical and there are times when I do heed the advice given by Harry Enfield and know my place

The plan - albeit a spur of the moment one - was to lower both - but it seems the rear is as low as it will go without new springs - and that wasn't planned. Maybe in the future - we'll see. The front though was just a case of swapping these spacer thingies - thick ones for thinner ones (see technical limitations kicking in) Mr W will explain - athough you lot prob know what it is anyway

Well as I am still her to tell the tale after my earlier post here, the lower the car or seat, the harder it is to get in and out,,its OK on a short run but after sitting for several hours,,raising the seat makes a huge help.

Once the 17 inch wheels had been fitted Edna looked as if she was on steroids. Looked at the spring perches and found the fronts to be 4 dot and the rears to be 1 dot . Same spring perches as a W210 and having some 2 dot ones laying around decided to do a swap. Just to see what it looked like, as you do. Looking at the final result I was quite pleased with the way she sat (Edna not Pammy ). So there they stayed. Car was filthy though and she blamed the rain, women, tsk, I ask you?
