Car
300-24, saloon and coupe, E300 24 valve diesel estate
On Thursday last TJ asked me to remove a car from my Traders Insurance, then with a twinkle in his eye, slipped a piece of paper my way and said "Can you put this one on for me:D:devil:". I groaned, "not another one John. Does Liz know?" No answer was forthcoming. So on Saturday I went round to see what he had found  True to his style it is a W124 300D 24v and quite nice too. Ok there are a few minor things that have to be done, but nothing ball breaking. I asked on the price and was told £350  So a photograph was taken of out 2 latest purchases, side by side. Total cost £550 :thumb:

You sly so and so's...
Couple of beauties there...look great, good luck with them!

Does that say 'E555' on the back of the dark blue one ?

It says "EbyGum"

I thought that had something to do with recreational substances administered orally?

......LTD, hang on, I'll share the taxi with you

What Ian is not saying is. He sold the origional wheels off his for 50 squid. So his is down to £150. I was positively stung at 360. It just shows folks the bargains are out there.
On a private road;) just the other day as we went for a tootle in Ian's car. I glanced over at the speedo which was saying 90, I asked if there was anyting left (wrong bloody question:eek:) That pussycat roared like a lion and kicked down at 90. The trousers on the washing line are just out of the machine having had the brown adrenalin removed.

What colour is the dark blue one......?

"Don't make 'em like that anymore" department

TrapperJohn was kind enough to loan me one of his fleet to use at a carboot - those 124 estates swallow HUGE amounts of stuff! :thumb: Hope you enjoyed the Corbiere John!

I saw the new acquisition too and it looks splendid, especially for the money! The paintwork would put many a modern car to shame :)

Mercedes Colour Code 366.

It is my choice of colour for a 124. I did drop lucky with it except it has a Matalan interior (cloth)

You'll soon have a Sportline interior from it, then it will be more World of Leather.....:)

Good find, I think I shall call you Trapperhound from now on.

what sort of mileages have these done?

Are they starship or number 37?

you're like a Mercedes David Dickinson (without the orange permaglow of course!!!)

Corbeire very nice and most welcome. You didn't have to:devil::thumb:) As you say it has to be drunk at the right tempreature. Wore a hole in the kitchen table drumming my fingers on the table waiting for it to "mellow?" Cant think of a word that fits there.

Charles (our very own inhouse wine guru I'm sure will know te word)

So Charles what is the word for wine which is servered at the correct tempreature? Or even the word for when it is not at the right temprature? (apart from, strewth)
