E250
Hi

I recently purchased a E250 and I was wondering if it had leather. The Russian VIN checker throws up 250A Leather however it doesn't particularly feel or smell like leather.

Would artico look or feel any different?

Thanks

Hmm, I gave the car a good clean today including some cleaner and sealant on the leather.

It's either really cheap leather or artico, tho I'm not sure which as on the spec sheet Mercedes provided is shows leather as being an added option at £1400 ish. Plus on the spec sheet is shows 250A, which is nappa?

It just doesn't feel or smell like leather.

Any ideas how I can find out?

A flame for a second will not burn leather. Artico however I don't know. Take it along to a dealer and ask.

A dealer will simply run the VIN, which may or may not agree with the Russian (pirated) version.

Artico looks remarkably like the standard leather but it won't last as well. Splitting is very common on driver seat bolsters.

Nappa leather is a much smoother, even surfaced leather. Noticeably softer and luxurious, very different from Artico.

No modern automotive leather requires conditioning as it is sealed with a PU layer.

The supplying dealer provided a spec sheet which listed every cost / no cost option. It has leather listed and an associated cost.

Code as 250A, which when looking online throws up Nappa?

It's very smooth, even more so when pressed. It has a few creases in too so maybe it could be leather. It's with the dealer on Friday so I'll ask.

Didn't bother with conditioning the leather, no need as you mentioned. Just gave it a good clean and lightly applied some leather guard.

Thanks
