E350 or E250

The other “safety performance” feature to look out for is the airbag recall, make sure the one you buy has had the passenger airbag replaced or get it done soonest.
Mercedes can then update the ECU and unlock a tin of worms.
Hi there, thanks for this. How do I find this out? What models needed replaced?

Get the e350 with the 9g gearbox. Just remember, both engines do 70mph , but both don't give 70mpg. 👍👍

You'll need to check this against the recall database.

Just as a reminder:
I am thinking of buying a Second Hand Diesel E Class 2010-2013 approx

Until the very end of the targeted age range the E350 diesel came with the 7g or 7g+ gearbox, so unless the OP is very lucky or is prepared to look at younger cars, they're unlikely to find a 9g car.

Hence why I said a 16 or 17 reg . 👍👍

2014 according to wiki. As a customer option.

So the one I am quite interested in is E350 7G Tronic Plus Auto (2011)

Really?! Oh damn I just test drove and bought it🙈 It's a thirsty one then?
Don't worry, ignore the 28mpg claim. My 2011 265bhp E350CDI with 7g+ 'box averaged 38mpg over the 35,000 miles I drove in it. I'm sure you'll achieve similar (or better) with the use pattern you mentioned earlier in the thread.

Enjoy your new purchase - they're a near perfect mix of refinement and performance that doesn't break the bank by guzzling diesel.

Yeah ignore it . Motorways you'll see high 30's . Averaged mixed driving you'll see 28 . Lol.

To be fair, 28mpg was about what I averaged in mine. But mine was the 265bhp model, mapped to 300bhp and I didn't drive like Mother Teresa. 😉🙂👍

Even over 120 miles I was touching 42 mpg in my GLC 350 9g. My e350 9g saw 47mpg on a trip to hull . Soon down to 35 mpg on the way home . 🤗🤗
