Afternoon all,

I've got a bit of an issue with playing my iPod in my car and can't get to the bottom of it. The car in question is a 2012 c class. It has audio 20 with a multidisc changer and I've got the Becker Sat nav unit in the glove box.

When I bought the car, the dealer said it was iPod ready however when I plug my iPod cable into the usb in the arm rest it says that it's not recognised.

Am I doing something wrong? I see next to the usb it had a larger plug which would need a special lead?

At the moment I'm streaming my audio but I'm constantly going through areas with low internet strength meaning it can drop out (streaming from the cloud I believe).

Any help would be much appreciated.

The USB is for charging only. My son bluetooths his iPhone for music and call/message handling but no iPod connection…there MAY be an Aux (small headphone socket) in the glovebox. That salesman is like every other we have encountered; doesn't know his onions from his shallots.

EDIT: You can upload music to the Becker unit, the amount dependant on whether it is a 4gb or 8gb version/

Yeah I do what your son does which is ok but without downloading my whole music collection to my phone (which won't fit) I can't listen to lots of music I've got on the iPod.

I have an option in my Audio list of a media interface so I would expect to be able to plug the iPod in and crack on.

You need the media interface cable. Probably one like on the link below. If you email them they'll advise if this is the right one. I'm currently using my ipod through the usb port and whilst it plays on random it doesn't let you browse through the files.

I just have a blank plastic cover next to the usb slot so I am currently trying to source a way of retrofitting the media interface after also being told it was ipod ready!

You'd think it would be easy but it's been nothing but a headache so far! Hope this helps
