Drove the 210 today for the first time in a few weeks and discovered that the display of the radio shows the message "SERVICE" all the time. This is in the lower part of the display where the name of the radio channel usually displays.

When I questionned SWMBO, the reply was, "oh, i've been meaning to tell you about that................".

It's an audio 10 with RDS, and CD multichanger in the boot. Handbook says nothing about this message.

The radio does work, but it won't show the channel (Displays SERVICE all the time).

Any ideas?

This problem hasn't gone away. :(
I finally got round to removing the header unit today. I unplugged it, then plugged it back in again. I kinda hoped that something might reset when it was unplugged. It didn't. :wallbash:

So, still searching for an idea.

I'm afraid it needs version coding updated with Star, if even that helps. This is the case for some head units that say "PROD" at startup, perhaps the same here.

I have lots of them sitting here that have this issue... It costs £ to fix them so just replace them.

upgrade audi0 10 in S210 - recommendations?

OK, if you have lots of them, i guess that is a good sign that they are uneconomic to repair. :thumb:

So, if i want to replace the audio 10, it would be nice to upgrade at the same time. I'd like:

1) to make sure the steering wheel controls still work
2) keep connectivity with the CD multi changer
3) improve connectivity with external music players (eg smart phones)
4) to not spend a lot!

Can anybody make any recommendations?
