In the rear of the stereo unit I have checked that all plugs are secure.
The plug with two bulbs red & white and the wires are orange.
What is this plug for?
Should the red & white lights be lit up?
I am getting the NO CD message on the stereo when I press CD but there is a light on the CD changer in the boot when I eject the cartridge so I assume that it is powered up. Cartridge is fully loaded with CDs.

Any help would be appreciated it really is driving me nuts!!!

Thats the fibre optic cable. Both lights should be lit. Mines like yours...never could get it to work. Give up now or suffer many hours of heartache.

Thanks Renault What does it do Light up the stereo when the lights are on?
Does it have nothing to do with the CD player.
TIA

It carrys the data and digital sound between head unit and changer
Try cleaning the cartridge and fitting some new clean cds I had this problem
and after doing this itall seems to work fine

Both lights should not be lit. Once is receive, and one is transmit. So only one will be alight. I can't remember if its the red or white light

On the fibre optics (D2B type, as in the Audio-10, Audio-30 and COMAND 2) are the following if the car has them
CDC
Phone system(s)
Voice recognition system
Bose sound system (digitial version)

It is a big loop, any component failing will cause all to stop, and if the car has digital BOSE then you'll get no sound.

Cheers

Richard
