Audio10 CD question

Hi
You should be able to get the code for the radio free of charge.
PROD usually means it needs to go on the star machine and be reprogrammed which takes a few minutes to do.
If you PM the serial number i will see what i can do for you

Is STAR something only available to MB Dealers, or do Indies have it too?

I recently had a problem with an Audio 10 in my W210. When radio was replaced CODE flashed in the display. I contacted MB Bristol who asked for the VIN and came back with a code free of charge!!

Unfortunately the code did not work as they can only give the code of the original radio fitted to the car. They asked for the serial number of the redio and came up with the same code. The concluded the radio may have been replaced and could not help.

I checked online for codes but most could not offer a code for the Audio 10 as manufactured by Alpine, and those that did offer to give a code gave no guarantee it would work. Beware! Apparently the Alpine radios are very secure.

Eventually took to a local car accessory shop specialising in car audio who plugged it into their computer and gave me the code on a card; cost: £15. Worked perfectly and a lot less than a new radio.

Finally I let MB Bristol have a note of the code so they could update their records.
