autobox question?

Had my car collected by transporter after a fire (not severe) and garage has phoned saying that they have fixed wire damage (wires damaged were to wires from the battery to the fuse block) but the car will only go into reverse from drive if you stop and restart engine??????????
When the transporter company came no one was at home (No time had been arranged) so he dragged it from its spot with a winch while it was still in park would this cause damage to the autobox. I did have a problem beforehand with the box but this had been sorted.
The car steering lock was also locked.​

Not sure about the gearbox problem but dragging the car won't do the tyres &
handbrake much good......
