If anyone here is worried about the car rolling away, the simple solution to this problem is to let the air out of your tyres, which increases the rolling resistance to the point that the car simple won't budge, unless you are on a steep incline.

Mind you, you will need a compressor to re-inflate the tyres later, unless they are runflats.

I always use the handbrake on my GL class, yet at the same time I never use it

It gets applied automatically when I put it in park and switch the engine off. Likewise it gets automatically disengaged when I drive off.

Now that is a proper automatic
