ayone know where the bushes are on this vac motor ?

Almost certainly at the back end of the comututator, there should be a shiny copper section which is where the brushes run.

not sure what they look like I have tried google but I cant get a good description

They have the electrical leads going to them and are spring loaded to push them inwards towards the comutator.

If you've ever seen a motor sparking as it rotates, that's the brushes.

They are at the far end away from any belt or gear drive.
