Hello Lovely People,

I have 2012 Japanese imported B-Class, the car radio and Satnav is a Japanese version, what are the chances of and to get it working if I just replace it with UK version, is it simple as it sounds?, I've attached the picture of the stereo fitted in the car.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks
Shaz

I'd start by calling ComandOnline; they'll be able to clearly spell out all your options.

I'm not affiliated, just a happy customer.

As above.

Also, this looks like COMAND NTG4.5 - don't be tempted to buy one off eBay, both the hardware and the maps data are (separately) locked to the donor car's VIN and so won't work in your car as a simple swap, i.e. it will require coding which is a specialist job (and www.comandonline.co.uk are the experts).

EDIT: If you're lucky that it will be possible to convert your COMAND unit from Japan to EU via a firmware upgrade, but if the hardware is different (which I suspect it is) then this won't work.
