Car
CLK 320 Avantgarde convertible
I am in the process of booking my car in to njs-solutions for a "B" service plus fuel filter sparkplug change and brake fluid change for the sum of £697.89
320 clk convertible.
anyone have any experiance of njs? It is the cheapest by a long shot but seem proffesional and use all the right kit and MB parts.
I will post on my findings!

Tony.

My CLK had its first service while in my care today as above B service including air filters combination filter brake fluid change and spark plugs changed and fuel filter! for the total sum of £720.
The family run business was professional from the off i was offered a courtesy car (which i did not need) and all works completed by the time i was given and a full report of the service findings.
I still have a couple of small jobs to be done that i will most certainly return for.
anyone using an indie in the Kent area should give them a look.

not compared to the prices i was quoted feel free to add a quote?

Tony.

My local indie is about £600 inc vat for all the above work on a v6 according to their website.

Things are generally a bit cheaper up north tho. So not a bad price for the op

The other quotes i got were:
MB- £1110.
Local indie- £875.85 but without combination filter!
I had another too but was higher still so just deleted it!
So i was more than happy with £720 inclusive.
But if anyone knows of a cheaper reliable indie i am prepared to check them out!

Tony.

As above around £600 would be the charge from us using genuine mercedes parts.
We include combination filters as part of the B service
You have to remember there is quite a difference in labour rates from north to south.
Parts prices from MB should remain the same

I have used Nigel for a few bits personally and he is very professional indeed. Only uses MB genuine (I think he buys from the Dartford dealer (Not that that would make the slightest difference)).

He is the only indie I have any experience of so couldn't comment for price but I was very pleased with the work they didon my CLK and my father's troublesome W202 that kept jumping out of Drive fro seemingly no reason. It was a wheel speed sensor but Nigel did go through all of the common corrosion points in the wiring loom (had half the interior out to do it). Made me think that he really knows his Mercs.

Also, I did call an indie in Strood area once and recall the quote being much the same as NJS.

and why leave it until now to post when the thread was started a week ago?

Tony.

I haven't had time to be here for a bit, but +1 on comment from Terry, this seems OTT on price. Did you check price and service details on MB online tool called MyService.

Glad you're enjoying the car though :D.
