£1800 for b service!

Funny enough it was MB Southend where the quote came from..

The plan is cheap. £2376 for 3 services which would be B>A>B. Includes MOT’s which might be a rip off as they find work that does not need doing

My C63s goes to the main dealer for servicing as i supply all my own OEM part's as the local specialist doesn't allow me to (ive been doimg it that way for year's and works out way cheaper)👍
Would that be outside a plan?
Within a plan there would be little point unless you bought parts for additional works.

Would most main dealers allow this?

Wow , that's over £1000 more than I paid for my glc350. The only thing they advised me on 2 MOT's was slight play in suspension ball joints . Oh and they love to tell you about brakes wearing thin. £1400 and Out of date first aid kit £70 .:-)

I think cars like yours need to tbh.
I'd politely disagree with that.

All the AMG's I've owned (C36, C63S and my present E63S) have been to the dealer network and specialist indy outfits - I tend to make the decision based on where I might be in a given service plan and what I actually need doing.

For instance, my E63 went for service at Inchcape Nottingham this year, because I was fortunate enough to inherit a service plan with one remaining service from the previous owner (saving me approximately £1k). But, next year I'll likely take it to my chosen indy because they are cheaper for servicing and 'out of band' work than the dealer network, as well as being more honest and accomodating when something unexpected happens.

I meant just not curbside motors with yts yobs, anywhere with an understanding and experienced techs will suffice.

Yes no point supplying parts if there’s a service plan in place as the service plan includes scheduled service parts.

I would say the number of dealers prepared to fit owner-supplied parts is reducing, and the few that do will probably insist on genuine Mercedes parts with an invoice from a Mercedes main dealer.

I would be surprised if any dealers will fit owner-supplied aftermarket parts. In exceptional circumstances some dealers would, where parts have no availability date or no longer available.

Smart no longer supply the fuel filter for the Roadster and you have to buy the whole tank to replace the filter as part of a scheduled service. They refused to supply and fit a aftermarket filter.

I checked with my usual Mercedes main dealer - which is part of a completely separate dealer group - and they said that they would have said the same thing if they were still a Smart dealer too.

No not on a plan some main dealers won't allow you to provide any parts as they want to make money on them aswell

All my parts come from MB NEWCASTLE OR EDINBURGH 👍

In fairness to the MB dealers, this applies to most main dealers but I stand to be corrected.
Dealers won't use the parts you supply as they could be copies etc. Yes, they do make more
money as well.

Even the likes of Halfords won't accept you getting parts for the same reason I guess.

I've never had any issue's with the way I do it the part's and invoice is always in the box in the boot ,as for Halfords I wouldn't let them anywhere near a wheely bin let alone an AMG but in fairness the SLK 32 will be serviced in house with same part's supplier

Your car is similar to mine 2018 C63

Spark plugs 3 years/31K
Air filter 3 years/31K
Sunroof 3 years/31K
Diff oil 3 years/31K
ATF 3 years/31K
Brake fluid 2 years

A/B service alternating 15500/1 year

My service plan is £52 a month for 3 years 3 services and include all of the above

If your spark plugs were done on the last B I don’t think they should need doing

Check your full history

If your car is a low miler and is 2019 you should have had a mega service as above in 2022 with the same service in 2025

I had to make a right fuss with MB customer service to make sure all items were completed in my 6 year service last week, see my thread in the service forum

If my memory serves me right, work / parts done/used by the main dealer is covered by a 2 year warranty.

That also applies to any parts via Mobilio - well it was the case when about 12 months ago when I had the fuel flap mechanism replaced.
It also applies to the RAC is they come out instead of Mobilo as Mobilo is supported by RAC. This only applies if you have had your car serviced via authorised MB dealrship

another thing; on the online booking system it asks you early on the select if your in a service plan or not.

If you click not, it takes you to a quote with "additional items"

Is there any way, if you were in a plan the computer might suggest you don't need the same works done?

I’ve been using the service plan for the last 12 years. I’ve never been charged for any additional service items.

No makes no difference, you have to make sure you are getting what you are paying for though on the plan

No the schedule is the schedule and items which are due are side regardless of whether you have a service plan or not. However since this time last year the service plan team will only authorise items which the car says is due, so if the car is different to the schedule then the car will be followed.

They always had the same price.
