Hi forum,

I need a new clutch for my B180 CDi. Been told by one garage that I need to change the dual mass flywheel, been told by another garage that I don't and changing just the clutch (kit, not just the plate) is fine. Car has around 150k miles on it if that makes any difference.

What does the forum say?

Thanks!

Well with 150 grand on the clock I would say the duel mass flywheel should be changed,

At that mileage I would change the flywheel probably quite worn by now, and while your there already save having to redo the same work and pay again false economy not to.

It might be fine now.....but you can guarantee it will fail about five miles after fitting the clutch and you will be taking it all apart aging!....the Law Of Sod!....
....that said my car is on its original one at 175,000 miles...no issues.

Ok, appreciate the replies, thanks! Clutch + flywheel is apparently a major job on this car and quite expensive. So I'll see ... it's still hanging in there for now!

Might be expensive from MB , but have a search online etc and see how much of Renault is under the bonnet , MB used their engines on some of the smaller models.

No idea if you car falls into this category but worth a look.
