As mentioned elsewhere, I finally picked up my (third) SLK this afternoon, so I am once again an MB owner. Going to be taking it easy for the first 1000 miles, as recommended, but I will also be looking to cover those as quickly as possible so that the fun can begin. :)

You've got no reason to be late for your appointments now, are you intending on upgrading your straighteners etc as well?

Would have been a lot more hairdresser if you could've had it the way you wanted it :)

Nice! I think the new SLKs look pretty awesome for a smaller car..... What is it they say? Small but perfectly formed!

Looks fab.

Is the personal reg so exclusively short that it can be masked with a PostIt?!

Looks great - well done.

Don't forget, the 0-60 run at Silverstone (TRAX) is calling.

The Performance Lounge expects.

I haven't given up on the tan interior. The dealership has obtained quotes from DK Schweizer to either fit OEM designo seat and door panel covers or to replicate them in one their own nappa leathers. I'm now in "chewing it over" mode - there's a considerable cost difference between the two options, and oddly (or perhaps not!) the off-the-shelf designo option is coming in at around twice the cost of the bespoke option.

But I want it to look stock, and DKS are saying it will be "difficult" to match the designo stitching pattern, let alone the Sand colour itself. So I'll probably bite the bullet and go the designo route - although annoyingly in doing so, I would lose the solar-reflective property of the car's current exclusive nappa. Why is nothing ever simple!

In the meantime, I've got my preferred interior set as my computer wallpaper, just to keep the dream alive. :)

:)

My golden rule is that the characters need to fit comfortably within the standard MB screw positions:

This also works nicely for the Yeti: :D

Thanks d215.

Re Trax, I don't think a standard eco-spec SLK55 would be anything special in comparison to some of the beefier AMG machinery likely to be participating.
