Back in the fold

I love my R172 55, it's a brilliant car and I can't wait for my next drive. I have the 10 spoke gun metal alloys and they look great with a white car too. I love the Bengal Red interior, but wish I had carbon fibre highlights, the best part however is that V8.

Don't know about the 55 being the poor relation in the AMG line up, it's bonkers to have a 5.5 litre V8 in such a small car.....who would do it except AMG.

I'm sure you'll love it! By the way I'm considering having the wing badges removed they're the only bit of the car that looks chav.

Speaking of which, here's my car with its evil twin. :D

Yes, yours has it too though, but not as bad as the CLC.

...and what better illustrates the extreme nose down, tail up styling of so many Mercs - and many other cars too.

Just don't like it...

Probably trying to be all thrusting and dynamic in an attempt to appeal to the yoof market. Or perhaps Fan Zhang has a secret thang for the 1970s Princess. :dk:

I find that the R172 is particularly sensitive to viewing angle - particularly in the flesh as opposed to in photos. I've often felt that, in certain colours, it can look quite disjointed when viewed from the rear three quarters or in profile. The boot lid can also take on a rather slab-like appearance, in contrast to the gently flowing rear lines of the R171.

Does it steer straight MOCAS - no drift left?

Does it steer straight MOCAS - no drift left?

Amazingly, yes - so far at least. I took my hands off the wheel a few times at the weekend, and didn't need to make any corrections to keep it on course, in contrast to my old '171 which only managed that trick after a trip to Wheels In Motion.

Maybe get the actual alignment values measured and stored somewhere so the dear little souls will have something to copy when it needs an alignment in future; just a thought....??

When are you going to mod it?
