Dell are advertising the 'cheapest' system they do at £279
However, through undocumented links, theres a monitor-less system which seems identical to the £279 system for £235.07 (with 90 day warranty)
Given this is <£250, its a reasonable system for web browsing, saving photos , itunes etc on at home - but don't expect to do video editing on it
3.06Ghz Celeron (if you want pentium, its £18 more)
Windows XP Home
512MB memory
80GB 7200RPM drive
DVD-Rom
If you need a monitor or DVD writer, do not start with this package and add them from Dell, there are probably better ways of doing it.
To see/buy go here
http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click...lue%3Fc%3Duk%26cs%3Dukdhs1%26l%3Den%26s%3Ddhs
And enter UKDHSONL in the first box and D103C1 in the second
When you get the configurator, change the support contract in the 'support services' configuration section from 3 years to 90 days, and the price will drop.
Cheers
Richard
[edit, this also comes with MS Works, this "cheaper" version has no card reader, the £42 more one does have a card reader which you could add to this system for £23.50 but I'd just use the usb cable that came with your digital camera if you want to read in photos !]
