My W202 C200 tends to have a slight drain on the battery which I compensate for when the car's not in use for a few days by hooking up my excellent CTEK XS3600 charger to a fly lead permanently attached to the connection box above the n/s wheel arch under the bonnet. My question simply is whether I can close the bonnet (lead from charger can come out from beneth the engine undertray) and set the alarm whilst charging. I've never done this before, preferring to keep the car unlocked and unalarmed. However, I would much rather have the car fully secured when charging - Just want tomake sure there it's ok before I try it.

The only thing i can think of is that the alarm/ecu might sense the voltage difference & set the alarm off, but try it & see. Before you do it just check that the key blade will manually unlock the door & boot, just in case it locks you out. Thats a good thing to check on any '90s merc anyway :thumb:
