battery not charging?

I changed my laptop from XP to vista, now the battery doesnt charge at all??? Any ideas??

This cant be anything to do with the system, what PC is it

A Toshiba L30 which was working fine on XP.

I'd check first start/control panel/system/device manager
and start/control panel/admin tools/event viewer/system

then go from there

If the above dosen't work try start/control panel/power managment... if there is such a thing in Vista.

Power management will not affect battery charging. It will affect profiles for energy saving.

is it not charging or is it just indicating it is not charging? will it run off your battery at all, i have seen battery icons displaying no charge while in fact it was charging.

if it is indeed not charging try running some kind of battery maintenance tool (usually completely discharges battery and reloads it) i have a lenovo thinkpad myself. do you have a spare battery try out as well?
